The lawyer who was born in Laguboti, October 20, 1959, has several nicknames because of his ability to handle legal cases, such as 'King of Bankruptcy' and attorneys for Rp30 billion.

Prof. Dr. Todung Mulya Lubis, S.H., LL.M. is a legal expert and Professor of Criminal Law at the University of North Sumatra and an Indonesian human rights advocate. In his political career he has handled many cases relating to human rights such as the rejection of the construction of TMII which was prioritized over the welfare of teachers in 1975 and cases of human rights violations in East Timor in 1999.
